PJM 201 for State Regulatory Stakeholders
 
Targeted to the current issues of State policymakers and/or other regulators and agencies, this course expands on the markets discussions from the PJM 101 training. Complexities of wholesale electric market structure and ongoing market evolution necessitate a detailed knowledge of these markets and rule changes by parties engaged in electric retail policy.

This PJM 201 course will provide the participant the necessary information to understand how capacity is forecasted and procured within PJM. This course will also discuss how Demand Side Response, Load Management and Energy Efficiency play a major role in the PJM markets. In addition, this course will review and discuss the numerous billing line items that are settled on a weekly or monthly basis.

Other Information: It is recommended that participants have knowledge of the basics of PJM’s role (grid operator, markets facilitator, and regional planner). Also, it is recommended that participants have a basic understanding of Locational Marginal Pricing, the Two Settlement process, and how ancillary services support the transmission grid.
